Following on from the previous section, further views of the A13 Leamouth junction. Looking south down the axis of Leamouth Road, the link to Aspen Way for traffic from Canning Town (and eastbound traffic from Aspen Way before the tunnel was completed). Leamouth Roundabout is marked by the tall floodlight behind the line of trees. This road is only 100yds or so long, but was given the 'A1262' tag when Aspen Way opened. Now, however, it seems it is signposted as part of the A1020 (see next two shots). Note part of the Millennium Dome lying across the river from here. 1280x960 -Lea01.JPG.jpg |
The southeast corner of the junction, looking west. The A13 can be seen in the background continuing westbound towards the Blackwall tunnel, and loads of traffic lights. In the foreground is the signpost for Leamouth Road showing it as part of the A1020. 1280x960 -Lea02.jpg |
Further east along the A13 showing the westbound approach sign for Leamouth, again showing the A1020 designation. The distinct 'hump' in the road is of course caused by the East India Dock Link. 1280x960 -Lea03.jpg |
A view spoilt by the low winter sun of the A13 Totso and eastern portal of the East India Dock Link. A better view is shown in the A1261 section. 1280x960 -LEA04.JPG.jpg |

Traffic lights were installed on this gantry in December 2005, though no switched on. Probably used in conjunction with maintenance and emergencies. 1280x960 -Lea10a.JPG.jpg |

The new westbound distributor road and its bridge over the River Lea, together with the original Iron Bridge partially visible behind it. Viewed from Docklands Light Rail just west of Canning Town. 1280x960 Cann01b.JPG.jpg |
It's hidden behind the blue fence, but this is part of the original Iron Bridge over the River Lea, viewed from the eastbound distributor. It was originally S4, but was remodelled and widened to D3 in the 2002-2004 period. Note small streetlights due to proximity of overhead power lines 1280x960 Cann02.JPG.jpg |

Canning Town flyover viewed from the northeast. To my left, the A124 Barking Road (S2) was the original route of the A13 up to the A123 junction in Barking town centre. The A123 formed the rest of the original route up to the Lodge Avenue junction just east of Barking. 1280x960 Cann14.jpg |

A brief stretch of D4 eastbound (including filter lane) exists where unclassified Beckton Road joins the A13, and continues for a few hundred yards until the New Barn Street junction (qv.). Access used to be also from the A13 eastbound into Beckton Road but this was blocked off by October 2004, when the flyover was fully open. 1280x960 Cann25.JPG.jpg |
Urban clearway and 40mph limit sign on approach to Canning Town. Many such signs can be seen all along the upgraded A13 between Canning Town and Barking. 1280x960 Cann26.JPG.jpg |
Gantry on westbound approach to Canning Town. Note that there may be some confusion as to whether the A13 turns off here. Note the tablet shape between lanes 2 and 3. We'll see what this is all about in a minute. 1280x960 CannRoad01.JPG.jpg |
Gantry at the diverge, with a sign on the central reservation showing us that the A13 does continue straight ahead after all! We have just passed a 30mph sign, so the flyover and the East India Dock Link are both 30. 1280x960 CannRoad02.JPG.jpg |
The tablet shapes are explained: in order to increase structural strength of the remodelled flyover, two extra reservations have been incorporated, between lanes 2 and 3 each way. Lanes 1 and 2 westbound were the original westbound D2 carriageway. 1280x960 CannRoad03.JPG.jpg |
Lanes 3 westbound and 3 eastbound were the original eastbound D2 carriageway, with the present lanes 2 and 1 eastbound newly constructed in 2002-2003, the whole thing opening fully in 2004. Note tick marks for lane 1 westbound, denoting the A13 totso. 1280x960 CannRoad04.JPG.jpg |

The actual Totso, just west of the Lea. A13 traffic merges with what is effectively the on-slip from Canning Town roundabout. There is no access from the roundabout to the tunnel and vice versa. The A1261 continues on the mainline as D2. 1280x960 CannRoad06.JPG.jpg |
